Wishes for Daughters
I’ve told you many, many times,
“Act with caution and take care;
Don’t open the door to strangers
When your mother isn’t there.”
We must watch out for thieves and robbers
Or those who might cause harm,
So we ask only honest friends
To come into our home.
Our little daughters sleeping
So innocent and dear,
I hope that I can tell your hearts
The things you need to hear.
When love comes knocking at your hearts,
And when in love you fall,
I pray that love’s an honest friend
