Let Live
Before I step on my soapbox,
Promoting “Live, Let Live,”
I note life is a paradox;
Much living is to give.
And, still, if I do not attend
To needs that are my own,
I have not much to give or lend.
How can the balance be known?
Do I respect my brother’s right
What’s best for him to do?
Or do I think only my sight
Can see the way that’s true?
So I recall, “Let go, Let God,”
And treat him as a friend.
I have not walked the path he’s trod
Don’t know the venture’s end.
So, let me with encouragement
From my agenda free,
Let him his own course implement
And self-reliance see.
