Lazy Man’s Thread
When we start needlework with too long a thread
(Mama called it the lazy man’s thread),
Avoiding threading the needle as soon,
But we get knots and tangles instead.
Where we thought we’d save time, frustration sets in;
We untangle and snip and untie
And have to start over with a new thread
And see that we didn’t get by.
My Daddy said to keep accounts short
And keep your life simple and sweet.
An account quickly paid, conflicts resolved
Prevent tangles with those that we meet.
So, in relationships, business or crafts,
God’s wisdom can guide all our ways,
Straightforward and true, no need for device,
We’ll have calm nights and purposeful days.
