Granddaughters

With little granddaughters,
My heart overflows,
With curls and ribbon
And ruffles in rows.

A scowl that melts
To an engaging smile,
A sunshiny angel,
A talkative pal.

Each has her own ways,
Overwhelmingly dear
Making us wish
For her presence all year.

Who could we read to
Where it would mean so much?
Who has such soft skin,
A satiny touch?
With precious granddaughters,
Our blessings sublime,
We’ll dream of curls and ruffles
‘Till we see them next time.
