Vision

Oh, Lord, who grants us tendencies
To thrill at places high
And marvel at broad vistas,
Help us see things through Your eyes.

You see the end right from the start
And know the soul’s intent,
Still freedom give to think and act
According to one’s bent.

You see beyond the fault so black,
Self-centeredness and greed
And seek to save and salvage
Because You see the need.

Your creation intricate and vast
Shows us an infinite heart,
To Your created ones endow
Of Your great self a part.

Senses Your creation to enjoy
Emotions to emulate
Just a bit of Your compassion,
To Your empathy relate.

May we in man or nation,
See the good You would impart,
Not shallow observation,
But Grand Canyon of the heart.
