Gift

Generously, it’s been laid at your feet.

Grab it, use it to its full extent.

What’s been granted richly, wisely spent,
Diligently, with grand intent
Can lead to life fulfilled and sweet.

On bended knee, I pray, “Infuse me with Your will
To take the gift, apply it and succeed.”
I can grudgingly admit the need
To take it, purposefully, foregoing speed,
With orderly improvement, dreams fulfill.

What’s been given profuse, overflowing,
With God’s help toward achievement growing,
With consistent actions and with heart,
Make use of that gift just a tiny part.
